Animations not Saving

I have been adapting a presentation I authored and used last year. the deck has embedded MP3 audio and a few simple builds with text- nothing elaborate.  For reasons I cannot explain, the old animations are fine, but anything new that I add will not save.  This is for a major conference in the next few days and I am more than a little concerned.  All the audio is in the same directory as the presentation.  When I create the builds, animation works fine.  Close and reopen and it is gone!

I have tried saving the file under a different name and get the same outcome.  I am running the latest update of Office 11 for MAC.

I'm guessing that this is the key phrase in your question: "I have been adapting a presentation I authored and used last year." You are probably stuck in some sort of compatibility mode. You can try doing a Save As to see if you can save it in the 2011 format. If that doesn't help, you might try creating a new presentation and inserting the slides from the old one with Insert > Slides from > Other presentation.

thank you David- You were onto it.  I tested in a new file and it held the animations as it should have- difference was saving in current version.  None of what I was doing was that advanced so I am surprised that the older version would not work.  In the end, I just saved my working file as a PPTx and that did it.  That saved me from having to deal with template formatting all over.

Thanks!  I will sleep better tonight.
