I am looking forward to official explanation of absolutely the same error which cannot be corrected by ALL means that are available online.
I tried to follow all recommendations (> 20), but none of them helped.
Final solution in Russian was to ignore this update or reinstall Windows.
I see many similar questions to Microsoft about this problem and no real helpfull answers even in English.
This is very disappointing. I spent many hours waiting for this update to install then rollback. That update tries to be installed every time the PC reboots.
Each week I stop the updates for 7 days and then try again without any success.

Very annoying. New HP Omen. Tried to sort it out, but nothing works.
    Annoying annoying annoying.
Thinking of liabilities. I didn't create this problem, but I am sufferering from it.

I have been pulling apart and building PCs since 1991, so after thirty years, I would have thought I could solve it. But no

I won't do anything, I will just ignore the update, and hope I am not compromised. If I am, then I bring out my litigation guns.

So after following quite possibly every update troubleshooting guide on the Internet, as well as all of the advice on this thread - nothing worked. But here's what I finally did to fix the update issue.

I went to this page: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
and downloaded the Windows 10 May 2021 Update Assistant tool.

This installed Windows version 21H1, which is a much larger update than the one that was failing to install (KB5004237). This update went well and, after that, Windows downloaded another cumulative update for 21H1 and installed it successfully. I think this large update made the failing update (KB5004237) redundant.

I hope this works for others as well.
