How do I delete registration information?

Hello,

I recently purchased a used MacBook and bought Office 2011. After installing Office, however, I did not have the opportunity to enter my registration information. When viewing the "About" section of Word, Excel or PowerPoint, I can see that the product is still registered to the previous owner of the MacBook.

I then tried to delete Office with all its contents using the traditional uninstall method and -- after this did not work -- using AppZapper which did not work either. During my internet research I ran across a knowledge base article (http://mac2.microsoft.com/help/office/14/en-us/admin/item/5d6c825e-5322-4328-b04f-86e106cc4b52?category=1dbf952e-1f61-47f6-85fa-196a22eaf824) with another uninstall method but the corresponding licensing filers (com.microsoft.office.licensing.plist and com.microsoft.office.licensing.helper.plist) are missing from my system.

It may be worth noting in this context, that I am using Mac OS 10.7 (Lion).

So, how can I delete or re-enter the registration information in Office 2011?

Hopefully, you can help me with my problem as I do not want to use somebody else's registration data.

Regards,

Marcel

Well the problem isn't my user information but rather the product key which I wasn't able to enter at any stage during the installation or the first launch of an Office product. Therefore I think it isn't properly registered or licensed to me.

    Open Word

    Select Word>> Preferences>> User information

Edit your User Information and select OK

Log out of Word then reopen to see if the proper changes have been implemented

    More options:

    http://www.office.mvps.org/version/index.html#changename

I would go into System Preferences > Sharing and change the name of the computer to your name too.

    Thank your for your reply.

I completed all steps and installed Office 2011 again. At the beginning it asked me for my name but I did not get the opportunity to enter my product key. So I'm afraid it is still not properly licensed.

Are there any other suggestions on what I could try?
