I have searched countless forums regarding this issue, most of them pertaining to a Microsoft.net framework issue on Windows Vista.  I have tried to "re-install" framework the Windows 7 way, including a non destructive re-installation of Windows 7 to repair it, and nothing has worked yet.  The exact error code is as follows: Error 1935. An error has occurred during the installation of assembly component {97F81AF1-0E47-DC99-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E} HRESULT: 0x800736B5.

PLEASE help with this, as this issue has been occurring for a very long time.

Try the steps given below:

Restart the computer in Windows Safe mode by following the steps given in the link below:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

In Windows Safe mode open the following location:

C:\WindowsRename the SoftwareDistribution folder toSoftwareDistribution.old

Close all the windows then click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > RunCopy and paste the following text in the Open field and then press Enter

*fsutil resource setautoreset true C:*

Restart the computer then try to install Office 2007

If this does not fix the issue then try the steps as suggested by ril_max.

See this link to know how to locate product key for Office http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA101769311033.aspx

What do you mean by "I have already tried both of these, without any result". What have you tried till now?

Error 1935 is related to .net framework which is integrated with Windows 7. Do a complete non-destructive repair or reintall of Windows 7 using the DVD then try to install Office. I would suggest you to contact your computer manufacturer for any help related to Windows repair

I have already tried both of these, without any result. Any ideas how to find the product key for office so I can get Microsoft support, since the product key won't show until after installation is complete, and I can't complete the installation.
