Saving embedded object presentation as a non embedded object presentation

I have a powerpoint with many embedded excel spreadsheets.  This is useful so the excel can be updated and automatically update the powerpoint. However, my end user wants to the see the powerpoint without the embedded objects...i.e. just a jpeg of the excel information.  How can I save a copy of the embedded object powerpoint into a basic level powerpoint without having to copy all the sheets over (the presentation is 41 pages and growing).

If you just want to get rid of the embedded information, it's pretty simple.

Save a copy of the original presentation to work on.  Then simply select and ungroup each of the embedded objects.

Ungrouping throws away the embedded data, removes any connection to the original source program (Excel in this case) and leaves you with an EMF or WMF graphic of your chart or whatever.

Here's a macro that'll do the job for you automatically ... but be warned that it's not discriminating.  It ungroups ALL OLE objects, not just Excel ones.  Did I mention working on a COPY of the original presentation?  <g>

One idea would be to save the presentation as jpegs (File--> Save as...) and then create a photo album in PPT with the images. (or use the image importer wizard from Shyam).
