unable to install ".net programmability support" when installing office

Hi,

I use a VMWare virtual machine to test my addin for outlook. For the addin to work, I understand I have to have ".net programmability support" installed when installing office. Unfortunately, when I run Office setup, the ".net programmability support" is disabled - the only option for that item is "Not available". The same thing happens when I try office 2007 professional or office 2010 professional. The operating system on the virtual machine is Windows XP with all updates installed.

Do you have any idea why I'm not able to install ". net programmability support"? Is there any condition that must be met before that item could be installed?

Any help would be very appreciated,

Regards,

Gregor

To resolve this problem, install the ".Net Programmability Support Files" for Office 2007. Go to CONTROL PANEL-->ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS-->CHANGE OR REMOVE PROGRAMS-->MICROSOFT OFFICE 2007 Then click CHANGE. Browse through each component (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point). If you find that the .NET PROGRAMMABILITY SUPPORT FILES have not been installed, then install them by clicking on run all from my computer. Reboot and your error message should be gone.
