When I close the Word 2003 each time an ad appears: winword.exe Error, the file is closed, restored, and blank page opened again. I need to remove this Error

For general troubleshooting, take a look at http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProblemsStartingWord.htm.

The article doesn't address my issue.  All was working fine until 3 days ago. only winword seems  to be having this error - no updates that I know about were installed . I tried upgrading to SP3 after this error started occurring - no change.

Have you tried repairing the installation (by accessing setup from Control Panel)?
