Excel Default settings keep changing

Hi,

My "Ignore other application using DDE" turned on by itself now and then despite that i already unchecked it in my default settings.

What could be the cause of it?

And how could i prevent it from happening?

    Hi Andy,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

    This issue may occur if there are multiple instances of Excel running. I will help you to end the multiple instances of Excel. Follow these steps to end multiple instance.

    • Close all open instances of Excel.
    • Right click on the taskbar.
    • Choose Start Task Manager.
    • Go to Process tab, search for Excel.exe process, right click and choose End Process Tree.
    • Open Excel and check if the option is unchecked, if not uncheck it and check if the issue occurs.
