Auto Save Values in Excel

I am working on creating a spreadsheet for a stock portfolio. I have two questions:

(1) I have formulas that calculate the value of the portfolio every time I open the spreadsheet. Is there a way for it to automatically save the value of the portfolio (save the value of a specific cell) automatically once a week? I would like to do this to come up with a weekly/monthly/annual return for the portfolio.

(2) What is the best way to add live stock information to the excel spreadsheet? I understand this can be done through excel but are there some recommendations for a good add-in?

    1. You must use VBA to automatically save value of a cell data.
    2. Microsoft's Money's stock portfolio add-in is not available on Microsoft's download website.

But you may download plenty of them available like these:

look for the following file: msnsq.exe

List of stock analysis addins for excel

    http://www.analyzerxl.com/

Else ask the addin related files from any of your friends who have the MSN money stock Quote addin installed

(the file is .XLA file usually in the location :C:\Documents and Settings<User name>\Application Data\Microsoft\AddIns)
