My trial version of office 2010 has expired. Is there any way to copy/paste or upload my resume' to future employer application?  This is just a temporary computer, if I purchase the upgrade Office 2020 can I transfer the license to my new permanent computer?

Currently on Vista 7.  Not sure what my new computer operating system will be.  I need an urgent answer; as sending out job applications.

You still have read access to your files created in the trial. You can upload the existing version of the file using IE.

You have to be careful what type of Office licnese you buy. There is a cheaper version that is retailed as a "Product Key Card", or a "1-Computer" online download. AVOID those completely. They are only good on the first computer they are activated on, NO transfer allowed.

What you want is a "Retail" or "FPP" license. You can buy it in a retail store in the big-ugly-yellow-plastic box with the installation disks, or as an online download of a "2-computer" (or "3-computer") online download.

Did you know you can install each of the free trial bundles one time each?

2013 Technical Upgrade Offer

If you decide to buy a new copy MS only sells Office 2010 at this time. But we expect that shortly (weeks) MS will be announcing the final release date of the next version of Office (some time early in 2013). At that time they will probably also announce a "technical upgrade" program for people who buy Office 2010 from then to shortly after the release date. That program will give you a free or cheap upgrade to Office 2013, so you will effectively get a "2-for-1" deal.  You can make do with the free trials of Office till then.

2012 09 17- MS announces Office 2013 prices and packaging

http://www.zdnet.com/microsoft-announces-office-2013-prices-and-packaging-7000004381/

  • Office Home & Student, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, will cost $140, up 17% from the current $120.
  • Office Home & Business, which includes the above apps plus Outlook, will go for $220, up 10% from the current price of $200.
  • Office Professional, which includes the above apps plus Access and Publisher, goes up to $400, a 14% bump from the current sticker price of $350.

·         If you want to install the traditional versions of Office 2013 on multiple PCs, you’ll need to buy separate licenses for each one.

My math has it a little different comparing retail to retail rather than PKC to new retail. The new retail license is only good for activation on one machine at a time, but still includes transfer rights:

·         H&S $150/3 = $50 up to $140  is 2.8 times more expensive, 180% more

·         H&B $280/2 = $140 up to $220 is 1.8 times more expensive, 80% more

·         Pro $500/2 = $250 up to $400 is 1.6 times more expensive, 60% more
