vb editor doesn't open

The VB Editor has stopped opening with Alt-F11 or by clicking on Visual Basic (under Database Tools) or by double-clicking on a object module name. In the first two ways above, nothing whatsoever happens. In the last way, the error message is 'Unexpected error; quitting.'

I tried uninstall/install but that didn't change anything.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

That is strange, let's do this...

    1. Check under Add-Ins and post what you have disables/enabled
    2. Try...

Lauching the database using the /decompile flag, make sure that's the path to your version of ffice...

    ("C:\Program

    Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Msaccess.exe" /decompile YourDatabase.mdb)

    3.  Do you have multiple versions of Access installed?

    4.  AND are you opening different versions of Office at the same time?

    1. And finally, are you using any ActiveX Controls, such as the Calendar?

This problem became critical so I called Microsoft. They determined that an Access Add-in that I had uninstalled, did not uninstall properly. So the VB Editor, when opening, could not resolve the status of the add-in and the editor did not open.

Applies to any database. Recently installed Office 2010 and installed all Windows Updates.

I can't think of why the editor wouldn't open. Are the databases in a Trusted Location?

Does this happen with all databases or just one? Is your Access fully updated?
