If I have a hyperlink between two word documents and edit the destination document for the hyperlink and save under a new name...will the hyperlink still work?  Any special steps I need to take?

The hyperlink will still point to the old document. If you want it to point to the new document, you'll have to edit the hyperlink.

If you rename the hyperlinked file, you'd have to modify the hyperlink so that it points to the new target.
