New section groups

Sorry but this is the second time I've had to post this question and I've been waiting and hoping for an answer for a couple of months now. All the answers to other threads, including mine. are simply wrong or inaccurate. Here's the question: I have a notebook in OneNote 2013 with 10 existing section groups. I want to create an 11th section group. How do I do this? Please don't give me the answer that you just right click on the of the existing section groups or near one of the existing section groups. All that does is give an option to create a nested section group inside the one you click. In OneNote 2010, I could right click the name of the notebook itself to get a top-level 'new section group' option. That option is no longer there. Come on, guys. Am I missing something? Am I being stupid? I've searched the web as well as this forum and tried all sorts of alternatives and can't do anything other than create a nested section group, not a top level one.  For now, I'm having to use a workaround by creating the nested group and then dragging it to the top level. Surely this is not when the developers intended. It's a fundamental feature of the program.  Please, please try to do this before reeling off a standard answer - and then explain to me why I'm getting it wrong. I'll truly appreciate it. Thank you.

psykeel - I too have had a challenge creating a 'highlevel' new section group - I found a 'workaround' today and though I am not sure if this is what you were asking, but thought I would post just in case -  Here is how I did it. I went to a completely different notebook ... created a 'new section group' - then simply moved it to the preferred notebook - keep in mind, I had to select the notebook I wanted to move to, not the section I wanted to place after.  now all I need to do is figure out how to move sections and I will be back in business. ...

That's remarkable. I'm actually using a later version - 15.0.4454.1511. If I right-click near or on the last exsitng section group, let's call it "Client 10", the new section group is created inside "Client 10" . The only way I can get it out is by then left-clicking it and dragging it onto the notebook name. Are you using the 32 bit or 64 bit version?

It seems to me that you will just have to use this workaround until the missing functionality is restored in some upcoming update. I run into the same problem, but since the workaround takes me about 2 seconds of extra work I can live with it.

As you may know, Microsoft makes its product support service as inaccessible as possible. When you wade through the options you eventually find there is none that will help solve this problem. And if you select the "support offerintgs" you end up having to pay, after already paying for the software, and for something which is clearly a MS issue not a user issue.

If no one in the community can help me, I'm certainly not planning to pay for support which, I imagine, will only tell me that the feature I want is not available!

Anyway, the so-called premium support service is never available. Always busy helping someone else. What a mess.

Agreed. Just frustrating that a useful feature that was in the earlier version has been removed for no apparent reason.
