Hi, I'm trying to reinstall office 03 prof but keeping getting the error 1312.  I've completed #6 but cannot finish due to the folder path missing. The path is c:\programdata\microsoft\windows\startmenu\programs\microsoftoffice but no folder exists?

Thanks,

J

When the confirmation message appears, click Yes. 5. Click Apply, and then click OK. 6. Close Control Panel. 7. Start Windows Explorer, and then locate the folder that is mentioned in the error message. 8. Right-click this folder, and then click Rename. 9. Type .old, and then press ENTER, where is the name of the folder that is mentioned in the error message. 10. In the error message dialog box, click Retry to resume the installation process.

Use the fixit mentioned in the following article to completely remove Office 2003 from the system and then reinstall it.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2639197

Note:

1>     In case if you are unable to use the Fixit or if it does not help, try the method 4 in the same article to manually uninstall Office 2003.

2>     If you are using Windows 64 bit operating system, save the ‘Fix it’ on desktop before running it.
