In Excel 2003 & 2007 you could create a customed button on the toolbar for the function "Paste Values-Text Only (Always)".

How can this be done in Excel 2010?

Click the little arrow on the right hand side of the Quick Access Toolbar.

Select 'More Commands...' from the dropdown menu.

Select 'Commands Not in the Ribbon' from the 'Choose commands from' dropdown.

Scroll down the list of commands until you see 'Paste and Keep Text Only'.

Select this command and click Add >>.

If you wish, you can move the new command up and down the list of selected commands.

Click OK.

Thank you for your prompt response, however, this does not provide the solution I was seeking.

The link you provided outlines the steps to be taken to add the 'Paste Special' botton to the toolbar.

What if you use the 'Paste Values' button instead?

After copying one or more cells. select the cell(s) where you want to paste.

Don't press Ctrl+V but click the 'Paste Values' button.

Thank you for your prompt response, Hans, however, this does not provide the solution I was seeking.

After following your instructions, I tested the command and it does not produce the results I am seeking.

For reference purposes, in Excel 2003 and 2007, when a 'Paste Values - Text Only (Always)' customized button was added to the toolbar (a green 'ball' or 'balloon' in 2007), after selecting a cell with a formula with CNTRL-C, CNTRL-V, select button, <ENTER>, only the value of the cell would remain. Following the steps you have provided, the formula remains in the cell after following the CNTRL-C, CNTRL-V, select button, <ENTER> steps.
