How do I adjust embedded object boundaries?

There is no way to 'approach' it :-) other than a steady stream of complaint & request for improvement through Help> Send Feedback. Object embedding in Mac Office is very limited compared to what you can do in Win Office, and PPT is the most restricted of the suite. You cannot:

  • Embed a PPT file in another PPT file,
  • Embed a PPT file in another Office app, or
  • Open a PPT Object that's been embedded in another PPT file or other Office document using Win Office.

Hiya Bob,

Acutally, I was able to open a PPT with an embedded Excel Object - and I was able to recreate said embedded Excel object in the PPT, (new slide) and open the file, make edits and have it update in the PPT...

The issue I'm having is in sizing the object - or more accurately, adjusting the boundaries of the object so they show all the rows/columns of data in the object window when I close and update, returning to PPT...In sum, I'm losing rows off the bottom

  • and can't figure out why the "handles" only move or scale the object...there's no way to adjust those object boundaries...

Any ideas?

Your issue isn't unrelated but it is decidedly different from the message you replied to. Unfortunately, it still falls under the same general explanation that OLE in Mac Office is very limited...

Yes, you can edit the content being displayed in the Excel sheet [change values, edit formulas, format cells differently, etc.] but you cannot modify the object itself. IOW, the number of Columns & Rows is fixed when the object is created -- Neither can be increased or decreased in the Mac version of PPT. If you need to change number of cells you need to replace the current object with a new one... Or make the revision using a Windows version of PPT.
