Using different languages in the same document

I've been struggling with this problem for years.  I usually write in English but regularly incorporate words and phrases, and sometimes entire paragraphs, in French and Spanish.  To make matters even more complicated, I leave the keyboard in Spanish because it's the easiest way for me to access all the diacritical marks I need for all three languages, such as ç, û, etc.

The problem is, because I have the keyboard in Spanish, Word always thinks that I am writing in Spanish and either autocorrects or indicates spelling errors.  I try to highlight the phrase in question and indicate the correct language, but Word is constantly second guessing what language I am using and usually guesses wrong. It would just be so much easier to indicate what language I´m using when manually.

You might suggest I turn automatic spell check off while writing and I have tried that, but I am a terrible speller and accumulate too many errors when I do that.

Any advice on how to manage multiple languages within the same document?

Much obliged.

The simplest would be to disable the auto spell check. The other option is to switch the proofing language as and when you switch the language you are typing in.

You could also look to type relevant section in their respective languages and then copy paste them to a main document.

This would provide more information on spell check in a different language.
