Delete (kill) a folder

Hi,

I need to delete (kill) an entire folder (and all it's sub folders and contents) prior to replacing it with the current version.

I have the routine (coding) to replace, I just can't seem to find a way to get ride of the folder. I've seen the process for killing files, but not folders.

Does anyone know of a way to do this?
