.NET Programmability Support feature Not available

I am trying to install the .NET Programmability Support for Word MS Office Home and Student 2007. From what I understand, I need this 'module' for installing/using the Microsoft Mathematics Add-in which I would like to install. I was able to install both of these on my desktop without an issue, but when I went to install the .NET Programmability Support on my laptop I ran into a problem.

I went to Add remove Programs > Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 > Change... etc. but when I get to the "Installation Options" point I can not select "Run from My Computer" next to the .NET Programmability Support under any of the office programs (Word, OneNote, etc.). The only option is "Not Available," which is already selected. Here's exactly what it looks like: http://imm.io/XLyI

Both the computer this worked on and the one it does not are running Windows 8 64-bit and the same version of Office 2007 Home and Student. If you need any further details please let me know.

Thanks,

Matt

I installed .NET framework 3.5, then tried the Office 2007 installation again and no longer had the issue.

I noticed this today, setting up an unlikely VM to replicate a customers environment,

Windows 8 x64 (fully updated) when I installed Office 2007 under the Word section the .NET Programmability Support is unavailable to install.. my best guess as of right now is the Windows 8 contains newer versions of this included with the OS but you are not alone.

    Thanks for the reply,

Since I posted this yesterday, I have tried uninstalling, restarting, and reinstalling Office as described in the link you provided. I checked during install under customize and the ".NET Programmability Support" is not available from their either.

For kicks and giggles I also ensured I installed all Windows Updates that were waiting to be installed, which had not effect on the issue.

    Hey Matt,

This could be either due to program corruption or bad installation.

I suggest you to remove Office and re-install it to see if it resolves the issue.
