I am trying to use autosum to total a column.  I have tried everything posted here but still no success,  I just get the following:  =sum(B3;B33).  My cell is set at general.  My calculation option is set at automatic.  What am I doing wrong?

If this is happening in just one cell with formulas, it is probably because the cell was formatted as Text at the time that you entered the formula.  In that case, simply changing the format to General or any other numeric format afterwards is not sufficient.  You also need to "edit" the cell by pressing F2, then Enter.

Do you mean that you see the formula in the cell instead of the result of the formula? If so, press Ctrl+` to toggle formula display off, or activate the Formulas tab of the ribbon and click to unhighlight the Show Formulas button.
