Keep my version vs. keep server version

I often get an upload failure message when using office 2013 with my skydrive account linked. When I reopen the document, it tells me that I can keep my version or keep the server version. Which version, will maintain the changes I have made prior my attempt to save/upload the file? Thanks for the help.

When I face this issue, I sometimes use the web interface to Skydrive to check the online version of the file. This way I can be sure about the contents of the server version before I keep or reject it.

When this issue happens I'm presented with 2 buttons, keep LOCAL or SERVER copy just under the ribbon. There is no details of size, date or times. How do I know which is the latest?

    Hi Gabriel,

Are you trying to view the modification time/date for the file on SkyDrive or on the desktop.

The file that is saved will have the last modified time and date on either SkyDrive or the local machine. But the created date will remain the same.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

The changes will be saved on the location where you are editing the document. If the document is edited on the machine locally, then you need to save the changes locally and then upload it to SkyDrive. If the changes are made on the SkyDrive then you may download it and save it locally.

    Hope the information is helpful.

    Thank you.
