can I use the remote access role of windows server?
You may be able to, but a hardware layer three device would be more suitable.

so there is a possibility that it will not work.
Yes, it will work, but reliably may be another question.
do you have another solution that will surely work?
Yes, a layer 3 switch is a perfect solution for routing

Hi ,
You can use Windows Server as a Network Router for communication across two Subnets or use hardware router.
If you have additional windows servers, you can set it as a RRAS server. If not, you can use hardware router for routing and networking.

Candy

Yes, if you're going to use windows as a router then recommended to stand up a separate instance for this role.
