When I attempt to use Office applications (Word and Excel) I am asked to sign-in but then recieve an "error 0x32" message.  After I choose 'ok' a box pops up that says "getting your new Office ready for you," but it never finishes and I cannot close the progam except through the task manager.  I can sign-in to my Microsoft account online fine.  What can I do to fix this problem?

Uninstalling and reinstalling the program did not work.

I called technical support and Sam determined that my product key was faulty.  A new key was issued and now the program works correctly.

    Hi Kate,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Is the computer connected to a printer, if so which printer?

I would suggest you to uninstall Office completely from the computer using the Fix it tool.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501

Note: If you have issues in running the Fix it directly, you may save the file to the Desktop and then run the Fix it tool.

Once the Office files are removed, restart the computer then, install Office Suite and verify the results.

Hope the given information helps. Let us know the concerns over the issue.

    Thank you.

Thank you for your reply.   I attempted to trouble shoot using the steps above, but was informed that "Windows cannot find WinWord"--I typed it in with the space after WinWord.

I then tried using the repair link and completely reinstalling from the Microsoft website.  The program seems to install fine, but when I log-in I receive the message: "Sorry, there was a problem when trying to connect to your account"  Error Code 0x302 Correlation ID {F2BB5C6E-0F29-4365-817A-8A7DD47E8F86}.  I press 'ok' and can use Word, but am informed that my product has not been activated--when I attempt to activate through the link I receive the same message.  (Prior to this problem Office continually asked me to sign-in and said it would add the computer to my account but never did, I am not certain if this matters.)

The only edition of Office I have installed is Home and Student 2013, which came on the pc (ASUS CM1745) when I purchased it.

Please let me know if you require further information.

    Hi Kate,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Communities. I will assist you with your query related to Microsoft Office applications.

This issue may occur if there are any add-ins or third party security software associated.

Before we start with the troubleshooting steps I need more details:

    1)      Do you get the error message before sign-in or after sign-in?

    2)      What is the exact error message you get?

    3)      Have you installed multiple versions of Office Suites?

In order to trouble shoot the issue related to Word, You may try the step below:

Open Word in safe mode and check if the issue persists:

    Hold Windows key + R.

Copy and paste, or type the following command in the Open box, and then press Enter:

    WinWord /safe

Note: There is space between WinWord and /

If the issue still persists, Repair Office installation as mentioned in the link below and then try to open Office applications and check:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2827031

I hope the information helps. If you need further assistance on this particular issue or any other Office related issues let us know and we will be glad to assist you.

    Thank you.
