In addition to Stefan's suggestion you may also check the 'Footnote Text' style and edit it as per your requirements and apply that style to the footnotes and check if it helps:
- Insert the footnote.
- Click on Format< Styles and Formatting.
- Click on the drop down for Show.
- Choose the option Custom.
- Select 'All Styles' under Category.
- Click on 'Show All' and Ok.
- Now highlight the footnote.
Double click on 'Footnote Text' style under 'Styles and Formatting'
