shape data window no longer displays shape data

In Visio 2010, I closed the shape data window for a minute. I reopened it by selecting Shape Data Window in the Data tab, but it no longer will display shape data; when I select a shape, it says "No Shape Data".  I rebooted, same result.  My administrator reinstalled Visio; same result.  I right-clicked on a shape and selected Data/Shape Data; same result.  Can anyone help?  Thanks

Mystery solved!!!!  It was the Size & Position window I needed, not the Shape Data window.  I eventually found the Size & Position window buried under Task Panes in the Show group on the View tab--little thanks to Microsoft Office Help.

I've the same problem with Visio 2010 installed on Windows 7 Professional (64 bit).  I've also have installed Office 2013. Visio worked for 6 months with Visio 2010 shape data working perfectly. Now the shape window only shows "No Shape Data". Uninstalling and reinstalling Visio did not correct no shape data problem.

    Can anyone help?

As someone once said, no question is silly.  However, I didn't group my shapes; alas, the same problem occurs with the shapes on a sample diagram.

It may be a silly question, but have you accidently, or otherwise, grouped your shapes?

This would have the effect of hiding the shape data.

Try opening one of the sample diagrams to see if you can display their shape data.
