Paste Special Grayed out

Hello,

I am using Office 2011 for the Mac.  I have a user who has no option to paste special when they right click in an empty cell.  He has tried multiple different spreadsheets to no avail.  The option is always grayed out.

However, I can open the same spreadsheet on my machine with Office 2011 and the option is available.  Im not having much luck finding a solution.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Adam

It sounds like an Excel Preferences file corruption or a problem with the User Account, itself. See if this helps:

What sort of object is on the clipboard when using Paste Special? Is Paste Special also grayed out on the Edit menu when this happens?

OK, at least the field is level now :-)

Create a new user account to see if the same behavior occurs when running Excel there.

    Thanks for your reply,

    Newest update 14.3.2 is installed

    Ran the disk repair

    Restarted

    Paste Special is still unavailable

The first concern is always whether the software is current -- Go to Excel> About Excel to determine what the present version is. If anything less than version 14.3.2 go to Help> Check for Updates in order to get the necessary updates applied.

Once Office is current use Disk Utility to repair disk permissions & Restart the Mac.
