I have old database files on my computer dating back to 1980. What do you suggest I do to convert these files into a new database. They were created with word 20001sr-1

Are they .MDB's? If not, what extension does the database have?
Thx for the response. Can I open these files with any database programme, or does it have to be with Microsoft Access?
Are these mdb format files created from the Word mail merge function? If so you should still be able to open them from the mailmerge function in a more recent version of Word (probably not the cut down Starter edition of 2010). See the last section of http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_labels_with_word_xp.htm
Old database files or old Word files. Either way you can convert if you like but newer versions should open those files. Have you encountered a problem?
