Linked Table Not Displaying Data Properly

A table in my back-end db isn't  been displaying data in the table view or when I try to use the data in a report. The data is there, there are 10 records. But when I open the table I don't see but 1 records unless I select a row. In other words, the only time I see the data is when I select a row. The navigation buttons at the bottom are showing the correct number of records. The records don't show in a report but they do show up fine in my form and when I view the table form the back-end the data is fine. This is a weird one. I thought I've seen everything in Access. All my other tables and reports are fine.

Any thoughts?

James

I decompiled 7 times yesterday and today. Now, again, the data isn't showing up in the linked table. I restored a backup for the front end that I backed up this morning after finishing the changes. I opened the front end backup first and the changes I made were ok. After deleting the old db and replacing it with the "good" backup the changes reverted. Next I removed all the recent file list and rebooted. I then restored the front end backup and the changes were retained.

I'm at wits end with the data form the linkled table. I even created another backend and imported but this time it did no good - the data doesn't show. It's there but the linked table isn't showing it. It's like the unselected rows, the fore color and back color are the same.

I've heard of several people losing design changes in 2010. You might try decompiling. There is an explanation here http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/decompile.htm but it was written for MDBs. You'll have to make the necessary adjustments.

You might also apply the VBA hotfix at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2596585 .

The only thing that worked was to create a new db and import all the tables. Now thought, I'm having trouble with my front end db. I made a bunch of changes yesterday and the day before. The db was ok but now all the changes have reverted  back to how it was before I made the changes. I even created a new db for my front end yesterday and imported all the objects and was fine until today. Now all these changes are gone. I'll have to look through my backups now and find oe that took the changes. Maybe I'll get lucky or maybe I'll try Maker.

That is pretty weird. Have you tried deleting the link, compacting and linking the table again? It might just be a funky index.

You might want to compact the back end, too.
