Tabs not working

I set up a new word doc by copying and pasting from another source. I have  an 11X17 doc divided into 2 tables, both about 8 X 10 " instead of trying to use columns. This document is a menu for a restaurant and I need the entre prices to line up near the right margin. When i set the right tab the cursor doesn't jump to it when i press the tab. It goes to the left margin of the next table. When I highlight the vertical row of numbers (entree prices) and try to align them with the tab indicator it just slides over them instead of dragging them together.

Phillip:

You should HAVE breakfast before replying :-)

Of course you need tabs in a table, to line up the prices.

And it should be a DECIMAL tab, not a RIGHT tab!  You line up prices on the decimal point, not on the right end of the number.

Have a coffee and it will all become clear to you :-)

Cheers

Yes in tables the Tab Key moves the insertion point to the next table cell. On the Mac you need to use Option (Alt) + Tab key. On a PC it would be Control + Tab. I mention the PC because here is a brief article from Microsoft on Tabs in Tables.
