Keep with Next Function Not Working in Styles

The "keep with next" function is not working on my heading styles. I'm using Word 2007, and even though the heading styles are set to keep with next, the heading is left on the bottom of my page and the paragraph is on the next page. Does anyone know why this may not be working and how I can fix it?

Hi - I had the same problem and solved it by checking my Normal style: I had checked the "Keep with next" option in Normal style, by uncheking, my header styles now are working properly. :-)

    Regards Ulrik

Are you using the Enter key twice to create a space between the heading and the text?  If so, redefine the paragraph formatting of the style so that it has space after it rather than use the Enter key twice.

If you put the selection in a heading and then go to the Line and Breaks tab of the Paragraph dialog, is the "Keep with Next" box checked?  If not, you have not set up the Style correctly.

If you cannot get it sorted out, send me a copy of the template in which you have defined the Style and I will check it out.

My widow/orphan control is not working either. Is there a bug? I've created the template twice and both times the same errors occur.

Send me a copy of the template and I will take a look at it.  Also, let me know which heading style it is that causes the problem.

No, I'm not using the enter key at all, and Word shows on the Line and Breaks tab that "keep with next" is checked. I've tried all these basic fixes, but everything looks just as it should; the heading simply doesn't do what it is told to do. I've even tried deleting the heading and creating it again. I really need to get this issue fixed because it is for a template, but I'm out of ideas. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.
