I am trying to use an image file hosted on my website as a header for a Word document that I am saving as an .htm file. (This is for an email newsletter where I need to have the image hosted somewhere so it shows up for the recipients.)

In Office for PC, I can paste in the URL in the file name field when I insert the picture, and it works. But in Office for Mac, when I try to insert picture, there is no place to paste in the URL. Anyone have any ideas?

To get a picture to display in an HTML e-mail, the picture must reside on a web server or other web service like SkyDrive. Then you use the INCLUDE PICTURE field and paste (or type) the full  hyperlink of the picture into the field as the file name.

Then, when you send the Word document as HTML, the link refers to the picture on the web server and displays in the other person's email message.

Shoot. I got all excited only to find it didn't work. The image inserts in the document, but when I send it as an HTML email, the image does not go with the document. I'll keep playing with it.

I suggest Insert >  Field > Include Picture
