Change base unit on bar chart

I have a set of time series data (rain fall) at 15min intervals. I would like to present this as a bar chart. However, Excel 2011 sums the data per day, providing a bar chart of daily totals.  How can i change the base unit to hours? or 1/4 hours?

Hi Bob, 

Yes.  However the only options are days, weeks, or months.

I have managed to solve it by switching the Horizontal Axis Type to 'Text'.

    Have you tried to set the major and minor increments on the axis?
