Hi Sundee!

got the same problem and got an error: installation failed<The installer can't create folder "var/folders/vv/8vvbww3x471c57zp_33qwjs80000gn/T//Install.422gPCR9U".>. And i was able to get rid of that installation failed error message.

Here's what i did:

  • I first downloaded another browser (in my case i tried firefox), and used that to download office for mac 2011 installer but unfortunately that didn't work cause it still gave me the same error message.
  • I created a test profile which i gave administrative access so i can install the software and that resolved the issue. This is merely an issue with the Admin user of the mac which you'd need to discuss with apple.

thanks,

Mark

Are you an admin user?

Are you trying to install in the main Applications folder?

What version of OSX are you running? Look under the Apple in the Menu bar.
