I have a Dell E6430s laptop, with windows 7 core i7 with 32 mgs of memory. I have Office 2013 and often get the error message: Excel cannot complete this task with available resources. Choose less data or close other applications. I can close excel and open the file with no problem. Anyone have a solution?

It is on a network at work. The thing I go back to, is that it will give me the error message, I shut down excel and then I go back in and I can open it just find. So I find it hard to believe that it is a problem with the file itself.
Hi,
Is your computer connected to a domain or a network?
You may test with a new file and check if it helps to ensure it is not file corruption issue.
In addition to this, if this file is shared and if there is a password set to it, then remove the password and check the results.
Mostly files on the server. Again, I can exit excel and go back into it without a problem, so I don't think it is the file itself.
Thanks for your help.
Hi John,
It seems like you are facing issue working with the Excel work book.
Does it happen with a particular file or with all the files?
Is this a shared file? If yes, have you set any password?
Create a new file and check if it works. If it helps, then copy the contents of the file to a new file and check if it helps.
