In Format shape dialog box, under Gradient fill there is the type Path. Can someone, please explain to me, or point me to the right article on what exactly it does?

I can't figure out what the differences are, when I use it to fill some shapes...

Thank you

You'll see a difference only if the shape you're filling isn't rectangular. Try using the hexagon or the heart shape and it'll be obvious.
