Anytime I try to save a file or attempt to create a chart in Excel, an error message is displayed as" Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" followed by " Runtime error! R6025-pure virtual function call" How would I resolve this? I am using window 7 with microsoft office 2010 installed.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I will assist you in resolving this issue working with Excel.

This issue could be due to add-ins installed for Excel. Try Working in Excel safe and check if it helps. To know how to start Excel in Safe mode, follow the steps below.

    ·  Go to Start.

    ·  Copy and paste the following command line in the ‘Search programs and files’ box and Press Enter.

    Excel /safe

If Excel safe works as expected, disable the add-ins as suggested below:

    a. Click on File menu.

    b. Click Options.

    c. Click Add-ins.

    d. Click on Go button besides Manage: Com-Add-in

    e. Check if there are add-ins listed, clear the checkbox to disable them.

    f. Close the Excel and restart it.

I tried running it in safe mode but the worksheet appears with warning message: "Excel has detected that you have recovered files. These files will be opened the next time you start Excel in normal mode" with no solution to the problem reported earlier. Despite this, I went ahead to try removing Aspen Simulation workbook v7.2 add-ins as you suggested and is now working fine.

    Thank you so much.
