Excel opens up wrong email app

I clicked on an email, and excel opened up Mail instead of Outlook 2011. Never seen that before. How can I prevent it? thanks.

In Mail: Mail> Preferences> General - Default email reader list, choose Outlook

or

In Outlook: Outlook> Preferences> General - Make Outlook the default..., check the box

    Open Mail and check to see if you have mail set as default email Client. If so click on button choose Outlook as default email client.
