How to make the Find&Replace function in selected text only? This is not working in Word (Mac 2011)...

I want to select some part of the text and search for something and use the Replace all function - without affecting the rest of the text. This used to work like a charm and now, I am unable to do it.

Thanks

Don't use the Search Pane in the Sidebar, use Edit> Find> Advanced Find & Replace instead.

Once you enter the criteria Do Not click the Find or the Find Next button. If you do, it takes the focus away from the selected passage. If you go directly to the Replace All button only the selected content will be changed -- Just make sure to click No when asked if you want to "...search the remainder of the document".

A big "BLESS YOU" for this. I would have sworn I'd tried the very same thing, but maybe I didn't. It wasn't as easy as before, by one or two mouse clicks, BUT IT SOLVED THE PROBLEM.

    THANKS!
