Hi Janet,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Community. I will help you in providing the steps to determine the cause and fix the issue.

One of the common reasons for this error message is if the firewall or 3 party software on the computer is conflicting.

Let us disable the Firewall temporarily. Refer the following link to disable Firewall:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-vista/Turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

Restart the computer and check if you can upload the webpage and publish through FTP.

If that does not work, restart the computer in clean boot and check. Refer the following link on How to restart the computer in Clean Boot:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Ensure the computer is restarted to normal mode after performing the necessary steps.

I hope the steps provided fixes the issue. If the issue persists, reply and I will be happy to help you further.

Thank You.

Oh, yes. Forgot to mention that I can upload to my site using a standalone FTP product - it's just FP that can't.

I have this too.  It started for no apparent reason after not using the product for a couple of weeks, and now cannot upload anything to my remote site.  The first thing I did was to re-install FrontPage, but the problem did not go away.

I tried the solutions given above (Firewall off/Clean boot) but the problem persists, so I'm following the advice and asking MS for some more help.
