I can't open embedded .msg objects in excel

Question

I can't open embedded .msg objects in excel.

I also can't embed .msg object in excel.

It crashes my excel.

But on other computers it works.

Ensure that there are no multiple instances of Excel running.

You may follow the steps below and check if it helps:

Step 1:

Turn off auto-save option in Excel.

• Click on File.
• Go to Options.
• Click Save.
• Uncheck Save AutoRecover information Every check box.

Step 2:

Repair the file:

• In Excel Click Open.
• Browse and select the newly saved xlsx file.
• Highlight the file name.
• Click the drop down arrow next to Open button.
• Select Open and Repair.
• Click Repair button.

You may also try changing the default printer to OneNote 2010 to check if the envelopes print in Yellow color. Follow the steps below to change the default printer.

1.	Open Printers and Faxes
2.	Right-click the printer you want to use as the default printer, and then click Set as Default Printer.<br><br><br><br>A check mark appears next to the printer icon in Printers and Faxes.

Note:	To open Printers and Faxes, click Start, click Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Printers and Faxes.

Try disconnecting the network drive/map drive, if connected and check if it works.

It happens with all Outlook email messages.

I happens in all my excel files regardless of where they are saved.  For other users, they are accessing the same files from the same locations without any issues.

I am currently using Excel 2010.  It was also happening when I was using Excel 2007.  My IT department first tried to re-install Excel 2007 and I still had the same problem.  So then they uninstalled the entire office suite and install all of Office 2010.  Other users are primartily on Excel 2007 but some are on Excel 2010.

I do not receive any error messages.  My excel become non-responsive and I have to force it to quit.

Does this issue happen when you have a particular Outlook email message added as objects into an Excel file or for all Outlook email messages?

Does the issue occur with specific Excel file, if so is the Excel file saved on a network location?

What is the version of Excel used on other computer, is it Excel 2010?

Do you receive any error message when you try to embed the .msg object into Excel?
