Installation Error, Setup cannot find Office.en-uc\msvcr90.dll

I am attempting to upgrade to Office 2010 Home and Student Version.  The download is complete but when I try to upgrade my software, I get the folllowing error.  Setup cannot find Office.en-uc\msvcr90.dll.  Browse to a valid installation source, then click OK.  Anyone know what I should do now?

Office 2010 does not come as upgrade version it’s a full version of Office.

If you have any earlier version of Office installed on the system, uninstall the earlier version of Office and then try to install Office 2010 Home and Student and check if it helps:

  • Close all the Office applications.
  • Click on Start< Control Panel< Add or Remove Program.
  • In the programs lit check if there is any trial or multiple versions of Office installed, if yes, highlight it and click on Remove.
  • Once the uninstallation is complete reboot the system and then try to install Office 2010 and check if it helps.
