red key issue

when I use msword...there is a symbol that appears which can be found under the 'p' key in red.  How do I get rid of this & go back to normal?  My cat jumped on the keyboard & did something.  When I type [in msword]... it is showing a dot or period between words with this symbol from under the 'p' key

    Hi,

    Which edition of Word do you use (Word 2003, Word 2007, Word 2010 or Word 2013)?

    Do you use a laptop or a desktop computer?

    Enable onscreen keyboard and check if the issue is in the keyboard:
