Having Problems with Organizational Chart Wizard

The data imported from my Excel spreadsheet will not allow me to select the managers from when I try to modify the pages at the end of the Wizard where it says "Specify how much of your organization appears on each page by modifying the existing pages, adding new pages, or removing pages."

The Wizard only allows me to select from a drop down menu of employees in the 'modify page' tab instead of working from the manager list in the imported spreadsheet.

 The spreadsheet is originally formatted with employees and the managers they report to, which is what Visio needs to draw the relationships in a work chart. According to the articles that I have already read on this topic, Visio should allow me to select a manager and number of subordinates but the Wizard will only provide me with a drop down menu of people from the employee list on the spreadsheet. Does anyone know why Visio is doing this and what I can do to fix this problem?

I would really appreciate if anyone has any insight or additional research I can look at to fix this problem.

    No, the worksheet in Excel is one page and it includes all of the data necessary to import into the Wizard. When I get to the last part of the Wizard where I can actually specify which managers and which subordinates I want on my chart, it will only allow me to select from a group of employees in a drop down menu instead of importing the list of managers from the Excel worksheet and selecting from that group.

    I apologize because I'm a little confused. I get the impression you might be working with more than one worksheet. The wizard works with a single worksheet where all employees (managers and reportsto) come from the same sheet. I'd suggest that you might try reproducing your difficulty using the sample worksheet that comes with Visio.
