Might be worth a try to save the publication
as a Picture and then create the .pdf.

Publisher 2003 - I have an image that I edited in Photoshop Elements 6 to be "feathered" and have a transparent background. I've saved the image in several formats (jpeg, gif, tiff). When I insert the image into Publisher, it's not transparent...I can simulate transparency by using the "set transparent color" tool, which is fine if I'm just printing on desktop printer. When I print the publisher file to a PDF, however, the transparency looks awful, especially when printed on high quality laser.
Is there any way around this? Thank you.

Tried it on a single page - it works! Saved it as a GIF, then brought it into Photoshop elements to make the PDF. Thanks for your help.
Was hoping to avoid that, it's 8 pages...not impossible, just tedious. Thanks.
I'm sorry, I didn't explain properly. What gets lost when I print to PDF is not the transparency so much as it is the "feathering" of the edges of the image, I end up with a hard edge (in this case, an oval) instead of feathered, transparent image.
Forgive me for asking but are you positive the edited
photo has a transparent edge?
The reason I ask is because .gif and .tif shoud work.
Might be worth a try to save in the .PNG format.
