Hi All

We have an InfoPath form that is used when employees leave our organisation. The employees manager completes the form and this is sent to Payroll to finalise final pay.The form has some rules behind it for instance when a drop down field is selected certain values on other text fields are populated, there are also rules to send out an email to payroll and other groups such as the property department. I would like to know the following please:

1) is there an easy way to extract all the rules out of the infopath form at once

  1. is it possible to extract the workflow in visual manner such as a process diagram using InfoPath or some other software?

I am using InfoPath 2003 but can run the form on any other version of InfoPath

Sorry I am new to InfoPath and still working my way around it

Thanks in advance for your help

Kind regards

In InfoPath 2010 and 2013 you can get into the Rules Inspector that can help with #1. Workflow, if it is part of the rules, might also be made available in the same manner, otherwise, it will be much more difficult.

Keep in mind, this is not that simple of a process either, but the Rules Inspector should make it more manageable.

The other options is to extract the form files from the .XSN and manually slog through the appropriate sections of the Manifest.XSF file. This is an XML file, and you can find out what each section does using MSDN.com.

    Best wishes!
