Hello,

does anyone happen to know, how to install appx apps on a Terminal Server for users that have roaming and temporary profiles? The app crashes when loading and I am getting Event ID 5973 that the profile is corrupted... Thanks!

1.What's UWP application do you want to install on w2016 terminal server?

2.If we don't configure roaming profile on w2016 terminal server, will the same "UWP application can't be opened" issue happen?

3.Can these final requirements UWP applications be installed and used on windows 10 instead of being installed and used on windows server 2016?

4.How many terminal servers will the issue user logon by using the same roaming profile?

5.Which method did you configure roaming profile on terminal server? There are 4 ways to set roaming profile.
1)Computer configuration\policies\administrative templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Profiles
“Set path for remote desktop service roaming user profile” enable
2)We set the profile path of “remote desktop service user profile” that is specified by the user object in “active directory users and computers”.
3)We set the below Domain Policy for specified terminal servers:
Computer configuration\policies\administrative templates\system\user profiles
Set roaming profile path for all users logging onto this computer enable
4)We set the profile path of “profile” that is specified by the user object in “active directory users and computers”.

No. In normal profile issue does not appear.

We have them on W10, too. The whole point is that we also offer users a remote desktop with all the apps they use/need accessible from their home device.

On all in the farm.

I need to check this as I am not sure, to be honest.

（1）we need to logoff all issue users' sessions on all rds servers and delete temporary profile registry key.

Windows Store apps may not open and Event ID 5973 is logged in the Application log

（2)Please run GPEDIT.MSC on all RDsession host servers and navigate to the following path and configure below policy.
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Connections\
Restrict Remote Desktop Services users to a single Remote Desktop Services session enable

(3)enter gpupdate /force in CMD and reboot your session host server then check if the same issue happen on old user.
(4)if the issue still happen on old user, please create a new domain user account and add remote access permission then remote access the session host server and check if the same issue happen on new domain user.
