Error creating report

Hi,

I'm just trying to take a table of information and make a report out of it.  But, I get an error and the report information dose not properly display.

  • To reproduce my issue I open access 2010 and create a new blank database.
  • I then add just a few lines of information to the table.
  • I go to the create tab and then click the report button which should just make a simple report with the data from the table.
  • Its asks me to save the table before I can make a new object based on the table. I do. Then it asks me to type a table name which i just leave as the default.
  • Then I get a popup saying: There was an error creating your report. Some Fields may have been skipped because there was an error getting information about them or because they didn't fit on the report.

The report opens in the design view and I can simply change to the report view but I feel like I should not be getting this error and the report should open directly into the report view.

I would like to let you know when I got to another system and try doing the exact same thing, I have no problems.

Even after saving and closing the table, the error still comes up.  Here is a screenshot

Like Scott, I wouldn't even think of creating a report from a table that hasn't been saved. The typical reasons why a report works on one PC but not another relates to printers, defaults, installed fonts, etc.

Why would you not save and close the table before creating a report?

The table that I am attempting to make is just a simple 2 x 2 table with text and numbers. I don't really know what all information you need relating to the tables and fields to help you so if you need any specific information let me know and I'll do my best to find it.

The default printers on each system are not all exactly the same. I can set set the printers to be exactly the same if you need.

Can you tell us anything about the table and fields?

Are the default printers exactly the same on the "another system"?
