Access 2010 Not Responding

When i create second form with the same record source as another form but displaying different fields Access2010 stops responding. I have set the file location as trusted, disabled compact on close, disabled av, switched off auto correct, checked for updates etc but the problem remains. The problem starts when i add any controls or vba to the second form such as simple close botton and then try to open form. I am then unable to modify the design of the database. The design of the database is the same as numerious 2003 databases which open and work 100%.

Access 2010 version 14.0.6112.5000

Windows 7, 64 bit.

I have also tried importing into a new database with no success, i have started again from a blank database and still i get the same result (5 times now), there is no vba running when i open the db as i am still designing it. The underlying table opens ok. The database works in 2003.

What would be the benefit of decompiling the database and the re-compiling after making any amendments? Never had to do this before.

I would recommend reviewing the following article to see if it applies to your situation:

2625046 Access 2010 crashes in VBE7.DLL after installing Office 2010 SP1

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;2625046

If this looks like it may apply, I would then install the following hotfix:

Description of the Access 2010 hotfix package (Access-x-none.msp): October 25, 2011

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2596585
