Error Message: Microsoft Excel cannot save AutoRecover info to Macintosh HD:Users:xxxx:Documents:Microsoft User Data:Office 2008 AutoRecovery:

This error message is popping up several times a day. It basically means the application has crashed. There are two options 1) "Do not show this dialogue again..." and 2) "OK"

Neither option does anything and I'm forced to force quit the application.

What can I do to prevent this?

Thanks in advance

Try, with all other apps closed, running the DIsk Utility app to Reset Disk Permissions, then restart your machine.

Hi - I had the same problem and was sure it was because there were more than one copy of a recovered file open. I forced quit for excel reopened and then closed every file individually before the auto recover had taken place...no further problems now!

Thanks for your suggestion. Excel has not frozen again since the permissions fix.
