Thanks Al,
That didn't help, but I think I'm on x64. So that might be the reason.

I just moved to a new computer, and get this error message when I try to open Visio 2007. "application failed to initialize properly, error code 0xc0150002" opening Visio Standard 2007 on Windows 7
I've tried to repair it, uninstall and reinstall, and some trick with starting by holding Ctrl down while starting. Nothing works. I've seen that this code is causing difficulties for many different applications. What do I (normal everyday senior citizen) do to get Visio to work for me again?

The redistributable's can be an issue for some products. You didn't say whether your operating system is x86 or x64. Here's the x86 c++ package.

Another graphics program, SnagIt 10 isn't working, but it gets a different error code.
No, I don't think Visio is the source. That's where I get problems. Others (in various lists) had problems with other programs, some of which were Adobe. They may all have had a common feature of being graphics programs (there were both Visio 2003 and 2010 as well as the Adobe programs.)
Someone said he fixed it by reinstalling C++ 2005 and 2008? but I couldn't figure out how to do that. It has stumped people on a variety of answers lists.
I expect it is a corrupt file in C++ cause by the move. Other people's issues also involved some sort of change.
"I just moved to a new computer", "this code is causing difficulties for many different applications". If it is failing on multiple applications, why do you believe that Visio is the source?
